Good to know
We make sure to test all of our fabrics to ensure they're ready for your home. To test abrasion, we use a machine which applies a firm pressure to the fabric in a rubbing motion. A fabric usually requires a rub-count of 15,000 to be suitable for your home, which is why we require a minimum rub test of at least 25,000 counts (count will vary per item) for all of our fabric upholstery to ensure our furniture is ready for your home.
Dirt and dust
If left alone, dirt and dust can damage the surface of your upholstery, so we recommend vacuuming regularly using a soft brush attachment, including under the cushions and in any crevices.
Spills
Make sure to clean any spills immediately, we recommend not using any detergents or cleaning chemicals which could further mark the upholstery. We recommend using products from our Guardsman range to pre-protect your furniture from potential stains.
Heat and sunlight
Avoid positioning your upholstery furniture in direct sunlight as it can cause discolouration of your sofa or armchair.
Plumping and alternating cushions
To remain your sofa's and shape comfort, ensure to plump them at least once per month. Alternating your cushions can ensure a balanced appearance of your sofa.
Tightening screws
Ensure the screws on your sofa or armchair are still tight a few weeks after initial use, and make sure to check their tightness a couple of times a year.
